Do Follow 2.0 Websites

Quite a while now...been very busy with a lot of things - work, family, and daydreaming...

Anyway, I have been working on a client that requires do follow 2.0 websites so I did a little research and came up with a decent list. Initially, we wanted to just submit articles to these websites. Much like what we do with Squidoo.com. However, as most of the 2.0 websites are for creating new blogs, we ended up doing some new blogs. It was so much fun. Wordpress.com, for instance, is a very easy platform for blogging. And so is blogger.com (this is what I am using for my blog). I might also be opening new blogs with weebly.com and wordpress.com. Watch out guys.

Do you need do follow 2.0 websites? I'll be posting it by batches. Here is the first batch.  I had quite a spare time so I did research on the PageRanks. Hopefully this will be helpful. SEO people and other interested marketing savvys, dig in:

PR 9
1. wordpress.com
2. bloglines.com

PR 8
3. weebly.com
4. typepad.com
5. blogger.com
6. livejournal.com
7. tumblr.com
8. squidoo.com
9. tripod.lycos.com
10. blogspot.com
11. scribd.com
12. groups.google.com
13. areavoices.com

I'll be posting the next batches later...thanks guys.

Link Building Is Still Important

Whoever said that link building is dead does not know what he is talking about. Whether you want to rank high on the search engine result pages or you want to reach a wider market, you need to build links. Links are considered as votes to a website's relevance. Having said that, more links mean higher relevance.

Without links, your website will be lost in the vast cyber space. No matter how good your website is, without links, it will be invisible in the eyes of the search engines and even in the eyes of your target market. Those who don't want to do link building are missing a lot in terms of dominating the web. If you are running a website simply because you want to kill time and you don't care if nobody else sees your website, then by all means ignore the power of link building. But if you want to dominate the web and follow on the footsteps of high ranking and successful websites, you seriously have to consider link building.

Wordpress Is Easy To Use

Hi guys. I am currently working on a number of websites using wordpress. Do you know that it is actually very easy to create website pages and blog posts using Wordpress? When you create a new post, you will be prompted to choose whether to use a visual template or an html one.

When you create your posts or pages using the visual template, you simply type just like when you use MsWord. The html codes will automatically be created. However, there are cases when you have to use the HTML template.

For instance, when adding maps from Google, you can generate a code which you can embed on your pages or posts. These codes will only work if you paste them on the HTML template.

Images can be uploaded or inserted using the visual template and codes will automatically be created for you. All the other elements of your pages or posts can be uploaded using the Visual Template.

It is just really easy to use Wordpress. So I urge you, give it a try! Remember when creating website pages or posts that are optimized, you always use targeted keywords on the content. And update your content regularly.

How Usable Is Your Website

Making sure that your website is usable is one of your primary tasks as a webmaster and web marketer. What makes a website usable? First and foremost, it should contain information that will be beneficial to your site visitors. Don't disappoint your site visitors by advertising your website as "educational resources" when all that your website has are images of you and your friends. Make sure that your site visitors find useful website content in your website.

Second, the website must be easy to use. This means that it should be navigable. Don't let your site visitors click on countless pages first before arriving on the page with the information that they are looking for. There should be clear cut links and instructions on how to get around your website.

Third, the website must be consistent. If you have placed your menu buttons on the upper right part of the home page, do it on all pages of your website. This way, your site visitors will know exactly where to click to get around your website.

A usable website attracts your site visitors to stay. Bounce offs are usually caused by poor navigation and usability.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR WEBSITE USABLE

Here's how you can make your website usable:

* Have a single theme for the entire website
* Be consistent with design, content, etc,
* Always ensure your site visitors' security when using your website
* Make your website's navigation simple and easy to follow
* All links within the website must be properly working

If you want to attract more visitors and get them to stay on your website, it is time to assess its usability and do something to improve it.

How To Perform Website Analysis

The truth is that there is no point having a website if it is just lost in the vast cyber space. Do you have a website? Is it optimised for your target market and the search engines? Search Engine Optimisation or SEO is highly vital in ensuring that your website is not just existing but also visible online.

The very first step that you have to do is conduct website analysis. In conducting website analysis, you have to look at these factors:

* Usability
* Functionality
* Content Readability
* Organization
* PageRank
* Navigability
* Customer Information Acquisition
* Manageability
* Content Update

I will discuss each of these factors one by one on my next posts so you can fully understand.

SEO Content For Websites

When writing for the web, the rule is that if it is not optimized, it is worthless. Don't think that SEO content is merely for the search engines, it is for your target market as well. When you say SEO content, you mean:

* content that contains keywords that your target market is looking for
* content that is highly organized and relevant to your target market
* content that is interconnected with the other content of the website
* content that is easy to browse and follow
* content with working links

Writing SEO content is for the search engines and for your target market. So start writing SEO content now!

Web Development Versus SEO

Hi guys...Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Recently I was invited for an interview by a company looking for an SEO specialist. I was pretty excited knowing that I know SEO from the grounds up. This will be ezzy pizzy!

But it turns out they don't really need an SEO person...they need a web developer. Let me get this straight guys, web development is very much different from SEO. If you are looking for an SEO specialist, you don't require them to know the programming language, you don't let them create graphics and flash images, you don't ask them to build a mock up website! SEO is Search Engine Optimisation. You ask them to:

* put optimized content in your website
* link the web pages to each other for easy indexing
* build relevant incoming links
* market the website on the search engines
* do off-page and on-page optimization
* manage your blog
* create optimized blog posts
* and more....

SEO and web development are DIFFERENT! if you need a developer, don't call me but if you need an SEO expert...contact me.

Article Spinning - Manual

Spinning articles is easy with the use of article spinning tools. It will be a pain to do it manually. I have a client requesting for manual spinning and I did it right. But for new spinners, I suggest you do it using a spin program. However, don't do auto spin as the sentences look funny and incomprehensible.

Happy weekend everyone!

Article Spinning - Article Ranks Spintex

If you have tried article spinning before, you know that the symbols are {word} and each word separated by |.

e. g.

The {man|guy} {adores|loves} her.

With article ranks spintex, you can do 2 levels of spins - sentence and word level. Each sentence level uses ~ as separator instead of |. Word level uses [word] instead of {word}.

e.g.

{Thank you~I [love|appreciate] it~Many thanks to you}

Hope I made it clear! happy spinning everyone.

Directory Submission

Getting backlinks to your website is important. Each link is considered as a vote to your website. However, you have to make sure that the links are from high ranking directories. You should choose directories with strong domains.

There are many free directories out there. Inclusion to these directories are not as quick as paid directories. What I normally do is submit to a combination of free and paid directories. This way, while I am waiting for the free directories to include my website, Google will already be able to spider my links to the paid directories.

Directory submission can be very time consuming. And the result may not be that quick to notice but this SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) effort will surely pay off.

Web Directory Submission

For months I have been doing directory submission for my clients. I have actually built a list of a thousand good quality web directories. I am confident that these web directory submission projects are giving my clients really good results. After all, three of them just signed up for an ongoing directory submission contract. Whewww..more work coming my way but hey....more work means more income right?
